2023: The Year It All Happens

Remember 2020? When we were locked in our houses with nowhere to go and writing and publishing a trilogy seemed totally doable in a year because, really, what else was there to do? It's hard to believe that was almost three years ago, yet here we are. I have grown so much as a writer in that time that I'm not even mad that my publishing dreams are coming true two years later than planned.

I spent 2022 getting both books out to beta readers and editing, editing, editing. I read or listened to more than 20 books this year and honed in on what I liked or didn't like about their structure, plot, characters, etc. Between reader feedback and my own observations, the changes made have resulted in books that I'm very proud of. So proud, in fact, that...

THEY WILL BE PUBLISHED THIS SPRING!

That's right! I took a two-week vacation from work at the end of the year with the express goal of getting both Acorn and Sapling ready for ebook and paperback publication on Amazon. Why Amazon, you ask? This and other questions will be answered in the biweekly blog posts I will do up to and through the launch of both books:

  • Acorn is set to debut May 2, 2023

  • Sapling will drop June 6, 2023

Click to Preorder!

I know that the most important marketing I can do for the trilogy is to finish it. To that end, in addition to posting regular blog posts and managing a couple of ARC reader promos (look for Acorn to drop on Hidden Gems in February!), I will be working furiously on the first draft of White Oak. My goal is to finish that first draft by the end of April and publish no later than September 2023. I hope that having the other two books finished will allow me to focus and finally achieve this goal I've been working toward for so many years.

Thanks to those of you who have stuck around since the beginning. Pay off is coming soon. I hope it was worth the wait!
